IDP Waiver Wire - Week 8
by Bob Miller
Week 7 is now behind us. We now see how these NFL defenses look. We see now who’s playing and who’s not, which players are playing in certain situations, and who is making a name for themselves on defense. I’m here to tell you which IDP players to target for week 8 moving forward.
These players points are according to the Dynasty Pros IDP scoring system below:
Jonathan Greenard, DE, Houston Texans (63.00)
This second-year defensive end has been on a roll. After recording a sack in each of his first two games, collecting them in pairs is becoming a common theme on Sundays. Two weeks ago against the Indianapolis Colts, Greenard recorded the team's lone two sacks. This past week, he had 4 total tackles, 2 sacks and 2 tackles for losses against the Arizona Cardinals. He has 17 total tackles, 6 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble since Week 3. Go get him now before it’s too late!
Brian Burns, DE, Carolina Panthers (65.00)
Brian Burns makes the list once again, and that’s because he’s still widely available. I have suggested picking him up in previous waiver wire articles. Well, he had another good game on Sunday against the New York Jets. He had 2 tackles, a tackle for loss, and another sack. He has 4 sacks and 8 tackles for loss on the season. That’s good fantasy production at a premium position.
Sam Hubbard, DE, Cincinnati Bengals (56.00)
Sam Hubbard is quietly having a solid fantasy season. He exploded this past Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens with 5 total tackles, 2 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. That was good for 21.00 fantasy points. He’s not a priority pickup, but he is definitely worth monitoring just in case.
Logan Wilson, LB, Cincinnati Bengals (81.00)
What can I say, but “I told you so”. Wilson had another good day at the office Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens posting 7 tackles and a tackle for loss. He now has 60 tackles on the season and is 2nd in the NFL with 4 interceptions. If, for some reason he is on the waiver wire, grab him. He is a fantasy stud and should be the top priority pickup.
Denzel Perryman, LB, Las Vegas Raiders (78.00)
I have a secret for you.. Shhhh.. Did you know that Denzel Perryman leads the NFL in tackles with 81? The Las Vegas Raiders linebacker is averaging 11.14 fantasy points per game this season. He is as consistent as it gets. He shouldn’t be available, but my research still shows him very much available. Snatch him up immediately if you’re lucky enough to do so.
Nick Bolton, LB, Kansas City Chiefs (74.00)
There’s not anything to be excited about in that Kansas City defense… except Nick Bolton. He is becoming a tackling machine. In fact, he produced 24.00 fantasy points while racking up 15 tackles Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. He is slowly creeping up the NFL Leaderboard in tackles for the season. He is averaging 10.57 fantasy points per game, and absolutely should be owned. His value only gets better in a dynasty league. Good luck!
Kyle Dugger, S, New England Patriots (63.50)
Kyle Dugger continues to make a name for himself in this New England defense. He had another fantastic game against the New York Jets on Sunday posting 9 total tackles, a pass defended, and an interception. That was good enough for another 13 fantasy points. He is averaging 9.07 fantasy points per game this season, which puts him firmly in the top 5 at defensive back. He needs to be owned in all IDP formats.
Kenny Moore, CB, Indianapolis Colts (63.50)
Moore continues to be a rock-solid IDP every week. This past Sunday was no different. Against the 49ers, he racked up another 7 total tackles. That was a good fantasy day for the cornerback. Averaging 9.07 points per game at cornerback puts him only behind superstar Trevon Diggs. Moore should be owned.
Marcus Maye, S, New York Jets (44.00)
Marcus Maye continues to be a fantasy stud. This past Sunday was no different. Against the New England Patriots, Maye posted a game high 12 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and a pass defended. That was good for 13.50 fantasy points. His season to date total isn’t impressive due to missing two games, but he is averaging 11.00 fantasy points per game this season. You’d be silly to leave him on the waiver wire.
