IDP Waiver Wire: Week 12

By Bob Miller

Week 11 is now in the past, and we see which defensive players are making an impact and which ones are not. I’m here to tell you which IDP players I'd target for Week 12 moving forward. The players listed below are shown as “available” in at least 50% of IDP leagues.

These players fantasy points are according to the Dynasty Pros IDP scoring system below:

Notable IDP injuries to monitor:

BAL: Kyle Hamilton (knee)

HOU: Derek Stingley (hamstring)

LAR: A’Shawn Robinson (knee)

DAL: Micah Parsons (knee)

DET: Jeff Okudah (concussion)

LAC: Kenneth Murray (neck)

CHI: Kyler Gordon (concussion)

Chris Jones: DT, Kansas City Chiefs

Remember this guy? Chris Jones was once one of the top defensive lineman in all IDP formats. He may not be as dominant as he once was, but he can still be quite useful in fantasy leagues. Jones has been on a roll lately. In fact, over the last two games he has scored 32.50 fantasy points by posting a total of 7 tackles, including 6 solo, 3.5 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and even six quarterback hits. He's been dropped in quite a few IDP leagues this year from what I’ve seen. If he's available in your league, pick him up. He could be very useful down the stretch.

Leonard Floyd: DE/LB, Los Angeles Rams

Leonard Floyd has been in the zone since the Rams Week 7 bye. Over his last four games he has a total of 20 tackles, including 10 solo, five sacks, and five tackles for loss. Depending on your league format, he may only be eligible at linebacker. If you are in a league that has dual eligibility, he would be more valuable. No matter your league format, Leonard Floyd's production is trending in the right direction.  I'm afraid he may not be available this time next week, so keep that in mind when putting in those waiver claims.

Sam Williams: DE, Dallas Cowboys

There are a lot of big names on that Dallas Cowboys defense. While Sam Williams may not be one of them, he has been very productive lately. Over his last three contests he has posted a total of 8 tackles, including six solo, 3 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery. I wouldn't call him a must-add, but with there being few productive defensive lineman in IDP leagues, he is certainly a player worth monitoring.

Other Defensive Lineman to consider: Vita Vea (TB), Leonard Floyd (LAR), Justin Houston (BAL)

Willie Gay: LB, Kansas City Chiefs

Willie Gay has been one of the hottest linebackers and IDP leagues lately. In the last two games he's put up over 34.00 fantasy points by posting a stat line of 19 total tackles, including 13 solo, two sacks, three tackles for loss, and one pass defended. I wouldn't drop anyone valuable to grab Willie Gay, however picking him up somehow and playing the hot hand may not be a bad idea.

Kaden Elliss: LB, New Orleans Saints

Another player that's been on fire lately is Saints’ linebacker Kaden Elliss. Over his last three contests he has 23 total tackles, including 13 solo, 3.5 sacks, two tackles for loss, and a pass defended. That's 40.00 fantasy points over those last three games. You can't get much better than that. I'm skeptical about dropping a valuable IDP asset to grab Elliss, so I may wait another week to see how he produces in week 12. I would advise you to do the same.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah: LB, Cleveland Browns

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah Has been dropped in several IDP leagues due to missing his last two games because of injury. He returned in week 11 and picked up right where he left off. Against the Buffalo Bills he had 12 total tackles, including seven solo, and a tackle for loss. that was good for a nice little 12.50 fantasy day. This is not a player I'm rushing to the waiver wire to grab by any means, but still a player worth keeping an eye on. He could be a nice stash for next season if the Cleveland Browns do not retain Deion Jones.

Other Linebackers to consider: Quay Walker (GB), Cole Holcomb (WAS), Malcolm Rodriguez (DET)

Jeremy Chinn: S, Carolina Panthers

Jeremy Chinn is a player that should not be available on the waiver wire. However, due to not playing since week 4 because of injury, he has been dropped in various IDP leagues. In week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens, Chinn had 10 total tackles, including seven solo. If he has been dropped in any of your IDP leagues, immediately scoop him up. He is an asset, especially in IDP dynasty leagues. He would be a priority pick up for me.

Kerby Joseph: S, Detroit Lions

I mentioned Kerby Joseph in my week 10 waiver wire article. He's a 21 year old rookie that is very intriguing to me, especially dynasty formats.. In every game he started this year he has been very productive. Week 12 was no different. Against the New York Giants, Joseph had 3 total tackles, including three solo, 1 pass defended, and an interception. If your IDP league is a dynasty, I would find a way to get Kerby Joseph on your roster.

Jordan Whitehead: S, New York Jets

Jordan Whitehead has put together very good performances in back-to-back games. In those two games he has a total of 10 tackles, including nine solo, two tackles for loss, and two passes defended. That's good for a total of 22.50 fantasy points over those last two contests. If you have injuries or need to plug a hole during a bye week, he could be a hot hand that you can play right now. Other than that, I'm not dropping a good defensive back to grab him. He's just a guy that's been on a roll lately that could help you over the next couple of weeks.

Other Defensive Backs to consider: Marlon Humphrey (BAL), Rasul Douglas (GB), Damar Hamlin (BUF)
