Fantasy Football 2024 Bold Predictions

There are only a couple of months until football is back! Everyone is busy signing up for new leagues or mock drafting, so now is the perfect time to make some 2024 Bold Predictions!

Fantasy Football 2024 Bold Predictions

2024 Bold Prediction #1: Kyler Murray will finish as a top-five quarterback in fantasy football this year.

Murray returned from injury last year and played well down the stretch. In four out of his last seven games, Murray had over 20 fantasy points, and in three out of his last seven, he finished in the top nine quarterbacks for the week.

It has been four years since Murray finished as the number three quarterback, but that was the only season he got Deandre Hopkins for a full season. Murray gets another big-time receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr., who should create mismatches all over the field.

The emergence of Trey Mcbride and the signing of Zay Jones give Murray a loaded set of weapons for a great bounce-back season.

2024 Bold Prediction #2: Terry McLaurin will finish this season with more fantasy points than George Pickens.

McLaurin has gone through a ton of quarterbacks, but he might have the playmaker to make him break out this season. He has gone over 1,000 yards in the last four seasons but has not had more than five touchdowns in a season.

In Arizona, Kliff Kingsbury gave his number one receiver 160 targets in 2020, which was 30% of the target share. McLaurin has not gone over 134 targets in a season. I think the Steelers will have fewer passing opportunities, with Arthur Smith trying to establish the run more.

2024 Bold Prediction #3: Chris Godwin will finish this season as a top-24 wide receiver in PPR scoring.

Godwin finished outside the top 24 among receivers in PPR for the first time in three years. He received over 100 targets for the fourth season in the last five years. The coaching staff is talking about Godwin moving back to the slot in 2024.

In 2021 and 2021, Godwin was in the slot 57% of the time, but that number decreased to 32% in 2023. Working out of the slot should allow him to use his quickness to get open quicker and maximize yards after the catch.

Godwin should yet again be a PPR monster in 2024 and be able to regain his spot as a top-24 wide receiver.

2024 Bold Prediction #4: Sam Howell will start by midseason.

Geno Smith came back to earth last year after his strong performance in 2022. His touchdowns went down from 30 to 20, and the offense did not look as explosive. There is a new coaching staff and a new offense that is going to want to push the ball down the field more. Smith, at times, looked like he did not want to make a mistake and would not let the receivers have a chance to make a play.

The Seahawks traded for Howell, and he is much more mobile and likes to take more chances down the field. He had a bad situation in Washington last year, but with a better team, he could thrive in this offense. I think that, with a young offensive core, the Seahawks would like to see what they have with Howell sooner rather than later.

2024 Bold Prediction #5: D’Andre Swift will finish as a top-12 running back

Swift has dealt with injuries his whole career. Despite this, he had 2209 carries in 2024, the most of his career. It was his most rushing yards in a season by over 400 yards, and he averaged a healthy 4.58 per attempt.

A lack of touchdowns kept Swift from ranking higher than 20th at running back. He only had five rushing touchdowns, but much of that was Jalen Hurts using the tush push to score short touchdowns.

The Bears targeted running backs over 100 times last year, so there should be plenty of receiving work as well. They paid Swift good money to be the starter, and I think they will feed him the ball and be ready for his best performance in 2024.
