Devy Watch Week 3

By Tommy Harvey

Quarterback

Matt Corral (Ole Miss)

Corral posted a record-setting performance on Saturday night with 7 total TDs in Ole Miss’ victory over Tulane.  In less than 3 quarters, Corral went 23/31 for 335 yards and 3 TDs, while running for 68 yards and 4 TDs.

Tyler Shough (Texas Tech)

Shough led Texas Tech past Florida International with 399 yards and 4 TDs on Saturday.  The Oregon transfer has thrown for 804 yards and 6 TDs on the season.  Shough is on track to be one of the top QBs in the 2022 NFL Draft.

JT Daniels (Georgia)

Speaking of top QBs, JT Daniels had a stellar game against South Carolina.  He went 23/31 for 303 yards and 3 TDs in the rout of the rival Gamecocks.  After a pedestrian performance against Clemson in week 1, and missing week 2, Daniels was back to his normal self in week 3.

Jaxson Dart (USC)

Dart replaced injured Kedon Slovis on the 2nd possession of the game to throw 4 TDs.  The Freshman QB came off the bench to throw for 391 yards on 30/46 passing.  Highly touted out of high school, Dart led the Trojans to a 45-14 win over Washington State.

Running Back

Isaiah Spiller (Texas A&M)

After an abysmal week 2 against Colorado, Spiller bounced back against New Mexico.  A week after losing starting QB Haynes King, the Aggies won 34-0 at home to improve the 3-0 on the season.  Spiller had 15 carries, 117 yards, and a TD.

Leddie Brown (West Virginia)

On the second play of the game, Brown scored on a 80 yard TD.  He ended the game with 161 yards and a TD on the ground and another 35 yards on 3 catches.

Wide Receiver

Jordan Addison (Pittsburgh)

Pittsburgh did not have a good day on Saturday, but Jordan Addison did.  In a loss to Western Michigan, Addison had 6 receptions, 124 yards, and 3 TDs.  Addison is one of the best 2023 draft eligible WRs in the country.

Drake London (USC)

Jaxson Dart found Drake London 13 times in Saturday’s bounce back win over Washington State.  London went on to finish with 170 yards and 2 TDs against the Cougars.

Josh Downs (North Carolina)

Downs continues to impress for North Carolina.  After losing Dyami Brown and Dazz Newsome to the NFL Draft in April, Josh Downs has become one of the best WRs in the country.  On Saturday, he hauled in 8 catches for 203 yards and 2 TDs.  On the season, Downs has 24 receptions, 399 yards, and 4 TDs...in 3 games.
